The EPI-Net team at ID-CARE just got back from Budapest, where the third ECRAID-Base General Assembly took place on the 27th and 28th of May.
The cosmopolitan atmosphere of the Danube, a river linking so many capital cities and so many cultures in Europe, was the perfect setting for a face-to-face meeting amongst all the partners of ECRAID-Base, which allowed sharing key project achievements and updating each other on progress and challenges faced over the last year. Our team is involved in ECRAID-Base’s Work Package 9C (Epidemiological Research) and ongoing research activities were presented. In particular, a focus was provided on ongoing data collection and EPI-Net’s cutting-edge studies investigating the emerging resistances to newly-approved antibiotics, the inclusion of infection prevention and control (IPC) indicators in journal publications reporting outbreaks, and the status of surveillance systems for infectious diseases in European countries.
