Fernanda completed her degree in Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Still in Brazil she specialised in Internal Medicine and then worked as a medical doctor for the Brazilian army where she had the opportunity to work with Venezuelan refugee in the border of both countries (with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [UNHCR]). She is now an Infectious Diseases resident at the University Hospital of Verona.
